You feel trapped in your marriage?

Often a person who comes to me for coaching, show / he is dissatisfied with his marriage and wants to leave. A woman, in general, which does not leave because their lifestyle financially collapsed. Similarly, a man who wants to leave his marriage, but believes that it can not for financial reasons. He reasons that include the 50 percent savings on property, home, etc. A great sacrifice is complaining is going to lose.

When the children because they are often thought to remain togetherwelfare of children is the ultimate gesture, a good parent. There is considerable controversy about staying in the relationship for the sake of children. There is a wealth of research on the topic. These researchers Dorree Lynn, PhD, says: If one parent of children is a marriage on grounds of, are a terrible burden for their children. "There's too much to ask a child for only the glue holding a family together. If the parents who havewanted a divorce all the time, they finally left after their children at home, children will feel cheated and lied. They also feel frustrated that the myth was broken by the perfect family. You wonder what is true and what was a lie. Furthermore, although far from rational angry at the fact that if you have been together for so long, because apart from them, after which interfere gone. Even adult children tend to naturally centered at their point of view, in part becauseYou helped make it that way. Do you think that if you have sacrificed for them all the time, because you do not want to do so? They always want their homes to go home. "

If the parents divorced a long time, the children will adapt to having two homes to return as adults.

Also, if you stay in a relationship solely for the good of the children, are role models such as marriage without love and life. As if divorce is possible to model rolethat individual happiness is important.

The truth is that anyone can leave a relationship at any time, but often dissatisfied party is not ready to lead because of the loss of property and the perceived financial loss would be to leave that.

Two people can live more cheaply than one. The fact is that there is only a rent or mortgage payment, cable bill, an electricity bill, and a water bill, even though the water and electricity bill is slightly higher for two people. Two people canShares of food more efficient than single, which often destroy food experience before being eaten. can speak of a single person rarely eat large amounts to buy food stock that is cheaper per pound. Although couples who share a hotel room together traveling, many people travel together and share a room. Two people can afford luxury goods, boats, quads, House, while singles might not be able to buy such luxuries.

Unhappy spouses often seefor what they have accumulated over a long marriage, and are not easy to give up possessions, lifestyle, real estate, home, or other amenities. This is understandable.

But how comfortable you have the "wellbeing" are when you put in your report look like? How would you like your boat, camper, to share the time, so if you and your spouse have not spoken or even a loving contact with each other in recent months? E 'worth half a million dollar house to avoid the two of you end up in the same room with each other? It 'nice to your music-was-the-art system to play when there is nobody to share it with?

Some people are pretty disgusted with the report that they worry more about than they lose, and let them decide. However, when they see what they lost, many people get angry, and believe that the other person is in a ratio of one whodeserves to lose. Most people are disappointed with their relationships convinced that the other person's fault, whatever it is. This is not the case.

Marriage is a two way street. It takes two people a good one or two people to make a bad one. No one can really destroy a marriage all by himself or without the help of partner countries. If marriage is a mess, all the parties have a shared responsibility in the cafeteria.

You are the one thatwant to leave your relationship, are not automatically entitled to take over everything. If you go, you have to go empty-handed. Stuff is just stuff. Money is just money. You can replace stuff, but your mental and emotional well-being and happiness are priceless. If you have exhausted all possibilities of reconciliation, you must leave the report for your mental, emotional health and happiness.

Why Parents Should Put Children Before Marriage

Image : http://www.flickr.com

We live in an age when love, sex and intimacy seem to be many people's epitome of happiness. Yes, we seek other ways to find happiness and fulfillment, but the rate of divorce and the percentage of single parent families compared with two-parent families tells me that parenting is either of less importance to parents than marriage or that they are uninformed about the effects of divorce on their children. Parents who leave an unhappy marriage for the sake of their children are not in possession of all the facts or are misguided in their belief that divorce is in the best interest of the children. The best wisdom out there says that children of divorce suffer more than children of unhappy marriages.

Here are 7 reasons why parents should put parenting before marriage.

1. Children need two parents more than they need a perfect home

The influence of both a male and female parent on a child's development cannot be understated. A good mother, on balance brings a nurturing, protecting and comforting aspect to a child's life, while a good father brings his child stability, security and strength. Mothers tend to be more emotional, fathers more rational. Mothers tend to be more understanding, fathers more decisive. A good mother may offer her child a shoulder to cry on while a good father may show his child how to get up and move on.

Of course, a good parent possesses all these qualities and shares the responsibility for providing their child with all their needs. But it is in the nature of a male parent to provide a child with answers and solutions and direction while it is more inherent in a female parent to be protective of a child's emotional well-being and to be a good listener without feeling the need to give her child a logical solution to their problem.

Having both a male and female parent present in the home teaches a child how to explore and develop both the masculine and feminine aspects of their own character. In balanced adults there is a healthy presence of both male and female characteristics. In women, the balance will tend to be more feminine and in men, more masculine. If a child is to have the best chance to develop emotional stability then two parents are needed on a daily basis. Even the slightest change in the balance will have an adverse effect on a child's emotional and intellectual development.

2. A child has a right to be brought up by two parents

Marriage is a choice that two people make for themselves. It is rarely a selfless or altruistic act. People marry because they find someone who brings them happiness and fulfilment in life. Of course, there is also the promise to live to make the other person happy. Even though the phrase "for better or for worse" is still often said in the marriage vows, more and more this promise is being broken as married couples find it's a promise they are unable or unwilling to keep.

However, when a child is born into the marriage, it has rights which far outweigh the needs of the parents. Even though a couple desire to be fulfilled in their personal relationship with each other, a child has the right to be brought up by two loving, caring, selfless parents: parents who put their child's interests before their own.

Parents rarely make a commitment to their children when they are born, but children ought to expect that their parents will do whatever it takes to give them a stable, loving home in which to grow and develop. In a good parent, the rights and needs of their child will always come before their own, whatever the cost to themselves.

3. To be a parent is a moral obligation - not a choice

There is never a time as long as a parent and a child are living when they will not be connected. Even if estranged, a parent will always be the parent to their child. There is no divorcing a child. There is no saying to a child 'I'm sorry, I don't love you anymore, this simply isn't going to work'. But when two parents say that to each other, they are in some measure saying it to their child. Parents may put a spin on divorce by saying to the child 'it's better for you in the long run' but the truth is - it isn't. A child's perspective will be 'you don't love me enough to stay together and make your marriage work' - even if only subconsciously. While some may say 'I'm glad my parents split up - I couldn't stand the shouting', what would they have said if their parents had found a way to make the marriage work in order to keep the family home together? Or are they even aware of the effects that growing up in a broken home has had on them?

The love between a husband and wife can wane or even be extinguished, but the love of a good parent is unconditional and unmovable. A marriage can breakdown and be dissolved, but the love that a good parent has for their child can never be diminished and their commitment to their child can never be undermined or broken. The commitment that a parent has to their child is not one based on choice, it's one based on moral obligation. It would be even better if it were based on unconditional love. What lengths would a good parent go to to provide their child with the very best upbringing they could if they truly loved them more than themselves?

4. A child deserves and expects it

During their formative years, children depend upon both parents to show that they are committed to them. They need to see that they are loved and to know that their home is stable and secure. They need to know that no matter what storms the family has to face together, the foundations of the family home cannot be shaken. Children need the certainty that the love their parents have for them comes above their own personal happiness - that it indeed comes before their love for each other. When a parent puts a child's interests second to their own it will make their child feel unloved and second-rate. The child will begin to doubt their own worth and their value to the parent. After all, what kind of love puts someone else second?

If a child doesn't deserve a parent's unconditional and undying love then who does? Children are vulnerable and need protecting. Parents have a responsibility to give their child the best parenting they possibly can whatever the cost to themselves. A child has no reserves on which to draw to cover the emotional shortfall which results from growing up in a broken home. Parents, on the other hand should be prepared to go into emotional debt if they have to in order to make sure their child does not grow up emotionally poor or crippled.

5. Spouses can expect too much from each other, but children never expect too much from their parents.

Marriages are not perfect, neither are parent-child relationships. But a child deserves understanding, provision, support, affection, and security moreso than a spouse. After all, when two people get married, they make an agreement to love each other and provide for each other's needs. When a child is born, no such agreement takes place. A child simply grows up expecting all that's coming to them. When one person in a marriage fails to uphold their part of the agreement, the other has every right to withdraw their own part of the agreement. So often, when the love that one has for the other depends on what they 'get' out of the relationship, if they ain't 'getting' then the love dies. But this only works one way with a child-parent relationship.

When a child fails to be a perfect child, a parent cannot abandon them or withdraw their love from them. The child still has the right to expect to be loved unconditionally. Children owe nothing to their parents, but parents owe everything to their children. If a child fails to love a parent as they would like to be loved, the parent must go on loving their child nonetheless. The child has no debt of love to pay to the parent. But if a parent loves their child unconditionally, that child will grow up to love their parent too. If a parent fails to love their child more than themselves, the child will withdraw from the parent to a greater or lesser degree.

Even though good parents will fail their child in some measure, a child's expectations of the parents are always right - even if unrealistic. Good parents will always understand that they are not married to their child - they are inextricably connected and committed to their child and that a child has a birthright to expect unreserved love and commitment from their parents regardless of how much a child returns their parents' affections or lives up to their expectations.

6. A broken home results in a broken child

Somewhere along the way, when a child is brought up by one parent or by two parents who live apart, something in the child is lost or broken. Having two parents who could not find it in themselves to stay together to give them a stable home will have a detrimental effect on a child. It may not emerge till later in life, but a person from a broken home may find it difficult to make strong emotional connections with others. Statistics show that people from single-parent homes are less successful in life - even years afterwards - than those from two-parent families.

While parents may argue that they split up for the child's sake, in actuality, it's rare that divorce ever benefits a child. Growing up in a home even where parents are disconnected or in constant disagreement gives a child more stability and normality than growing up where they have to deal with the loss of the two-parent home. A child growing up in a broken home grows up grieving for the intact home where two parents are available on a daily basis to provide them with the moral, emotional and intellectual support essential to their development and nourishment. The best parenting cannot be done over the telephone or on weekends. The best parenting is done on a daily basis and in partnership with the other parent. No matter how parents try to justify divorce, it will nearly always result in a broken child.

7. Putting parenting first may save a marriage

Children should never be used as an excuse not to leave a marriage, but they can be the reason why a parent would stay in a marriage. The difference is that if a parent knows that to provide their child with a stable, loving and peaceful home in which to grow up will give them the best possible start in life, it may give them the resolve they need to work harder at their marriage than if they had not been a parent. Whereas, not leaving a marriage for the sake of a child is a mindset which can result in a parent putting too much responsibility on their child to bring them personal happiness.

If parents can proactively take steps to make a marriage workable so that their child has the home they deserve, they may find that their marriage becomes less of a disappointment. Focusing on the needs of their child and resolving to work at their relationship for the sake of their child doesn't necessarily mean that the marriage is false or a sham. It merely shifts the priorities of the marriage. Nor does it mean that the child carries the burden of keeping the marriage together. It merely requires a level of giving to the child that supercedes the parents' desire to take from each other. Providing a child with a good home is one of the best reasons two people can stay together.

Who said that romance or sex or a great social life are the only reasons to be married? Surely, providing a child with a loving home is as good, if not, a better reason for working at a marriage than all the others put together? The result of working at the marriage wouldn't be to prevent the pain of separation for the parents, it would be the enduring and immeasurable investment that they make in the well-being and personal development of their child. If parents can keep their child the focus of their ambitions and desires, they can find ways they otherwise wouldn't have done to make their marriage workable and as enjoyable as possible and thus provide their child with the parents and the home they deserve.

So, how can a marriage survive separation? In this way, four things:

Forgive. Yourself, "I am ... that wipes out your transgressions, for my sake, and remembers your sins no more" (Isaiah 43: 25 NIV). God forgives and forgets, and he will give grace to forgive yourself , too.

Forgive those who have hurt you. Forgiveness is the only force that you always have someone that hurts you. So forgive, until the past do not control. Share your steadfastness and forgiveness! Only you can forgive and forget the bass and. Move

Take your time. Do not make big changes right now. Are you on a emotional roller coaster, again in the balance between the desire of your partner and your partner want to suffer. They are vulnerable to the comments of other people and simply to those who pay attention drawn to himself. Slow down! Healthy people make healthy choices, in order to spend time with the reading of the Word of God, pray for advice, and so become a whole.

Start giving back. "Your God isgracious and merciful. He will not turn their faces from you when you return to him "(2 Chronicles 30: 9 NIV). Realize God has not turned its back on what you can" comfort those in trouble with the comfort you have received from God. Find out why women fake orgasm for the sake of saving a marriage

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Before the family life and sex life together. For married couples, orgasm is very important because it means that one is satisfied with his or her sex life. But for some couples, it may be difficult to achieve orgasm. And that means that women need an orgasm for the sake of saving a fake marriage.

The orgasm comes from the Greek word "orgasmos. And 'the height of the plateau phase of sexual response cycle. This is indicated by an intense feelingPleasure. For women, orgasm is difficult, because it is characterized in two, is the first and the second is clitoral orgasm vaginal orgasm. vaginal orgasm was a concept postulated by Sigmund Freud. Freud said that the clitoral orgasm changes when a woman grows. This is because many women felt inadequate when he could not reach orgasm through vaginal intercourse, clitoral stimulation. This is usually not always achieved during sexual activity. For males andWomen, the State did not disappoint with an orgasm. But there are some factors that could contribute to this as too much stress, anxiety and depression.

Women fake orgasm because many reasons. It must do so if their partner have an orgasm, but can not. Another reason could be that in order to prevent them from sex, but are too shy to tell their partners because they do not want them to be disappointed. If a man knows that the partner is a fake orgasmhe may be disappointed, and his ego could be hurt. This is because women are afraid to show that they reach their peak because there are men's satisfaction.

Many have to save a marriage, because women can not reach orgasm and their partners feel that they are not satisfied with the success. There are some women who have some health problems, so it is difficult to understand why for them to reach orgasm. Men should be sensitive at times. There are many women in the group that saysSimulate an orgasm is to move against the men who oppress women in more sex with pleasure. Partners must talk to each other on it to avoid problems. It is good to have your wife to reach orgasm when they can not pressure. Nor is it healthy to fake an orgasm because they are too afraid of ruining their relationship.

A relationship is not only sexual desire in the end, try to remember that if you save your marriage. It goes further. There are many things tomake your partner happy. You have only yourself when you're with your partner. Saving a marriage means that men should learn is to listen to women. You have to understand, because more women are complex creatures, at the time. Understanding is the key to a better relationship. If one understands the other, could be harmony in the relationship. Open communication can also help a lot. Couples should be complementary and complement each other. For married couples, shouldUnderstand that the sexual aspect is only part of their lives as married couples. We can talk and solve problems through honest communication.

The separation may save your marriage?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A separation of the sample can accept that the person whose divorce without the feelings of the final decision will be part of the divorce. The main advantage of a separation test, it is natural that it is easily reversible. You can try for a while ', you go through counseling, and then reconcile, or you can try separating for a while', you decide how it - and then continue with the divorce.

There are two ways it can be separated, as you and your spouse, or an informalSeparation or a formal legal separation.

An informal separation is basically what you both agree that it is. In general, it remains one of you had shared in the house before, and the other moves in another district. In this phase, normally no formal division of property, but you would agree, informally, in any type of work order for the possession of things such as cars, bank accounts, credit cards and stereo.

A formal legalThe separation is permanent, more complicated and expensive. It 'also very rare. It 's almost as expensive as a divorce - sometimes more so because it is less common - so you can find your lawyer how to do anything to pay. And often the people who presented a formal separation, to get through all the pain, time and money to return following a royal divorce.

You may wonder why anyone would go through a formal legal separation? Perhaps becauseSome states require that some of the research had been disconnected after a divorce for some time. Even some couples to stay married legally, maybe we could go for medical purposes or otherwise by the company of other costs. formal legal separation makes it possible.

Sometimes there is no doubt that the couple is moving after a divorce, but I remember it will take some time to take the work out of everything. If their incomes are very different, may be useful for the agreementto a written separation agreement, the debtor may deduct any food in it his tax return. Spouses may pay to the person receiving it is more than enough to pay the tax on food, and still pay more profits. Sometimes one spouse has a religious objection to divorce. A formal separation allows the spouse to remain officially married, although they live apart.

It also can not really an excuse to go back in time,Pain and costs of a formal legal separation. Maybe it's better to accept an agreement to work for an informal separation. You can then follow this up directly with either reconciliation or divorce.

Can save a marriage, separation - that is the problem. Some people are vehemently opposed to separation, in order to emphasize even more for an already strained marriage. Perhaps separation may be the best option for some marriages, despite the shadow of divorce, cohabitation is asobviously does not work. However, you can run it remotely? A separate sample is a long way to help you decide to go the answer.

Why? Couples tend to find that separate, without the constant daily conflicts and disputes, lack of closeness to their spouse's time to think and solve problems. marital problems are often difficult to solve because they often come from ego, fear and stubbornness stop. resolution can prosper until at least one partner iswilling to keep trying, when the need is always right and can not get off, then it probably means that the separation ends in divorce.

It is strongly recommended to at least try on a trial separation. If only for the sake of trying to save the marriage.

clear signs to say that the marriage is over

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Everything you could want in a few years of their marriage away. However, I am still hoping that the children then come back again for the good of your sparks. If you are sure before you hit the divorce arena, here are some characters, as you say, if the marriage is over.

If you are about your thoughts and your partner feel that is a clear sign that everything is still quite shaky for you. And 'natural for youTheir utmost concern to share your spouse. They promised to each other faithfully together and face life without its oddities, and not feel, so it is one of the characters as you say if your marriage is over.

Another sign is when you feel that you are working hard to get love and attention from their partners. Of course, you want to go a little 'love of the person you are going to spend my life with him, are preserved. But if this does not work and you think that your spouse has otherinterests, apart from being in a marriage, then let it be.

Even if these things about how to tell if your marriage are given, nothing compares to leave your husband or wife about your concerns, if these problems occur. It 's very important to have open communication with your spouse. Maybe just give your marriage another try.

My husband says that is not in love anymore, but it is only in marriage for the sake of our children '

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Over the weekend I got an email from a woman who told me that she and her husband recently had a fight and snapped that once again, does not like, but that he was staying married "for the sake of children." He had no idea how to respond. Of course, was devastated. But she wondered if she should stay in a "loveless marriage" or if it would be dangerous to stay for the children of divorce in a family whereParents do not love each other.

E 'was for them, their feelings about the divorce and her feelings separated from her husband hard. Although she was angry with him, she wanted to love again and she wanted to work the marriage. If it is for her, there would be no divorce. Thus, in the following article will tell you what I said as we see the situation now, but also how to turn around theFuture.

Divorce Vs Parents who do not love their spouse, but from the perspective of the child (ren), I will. Receive, as their children well in the first course, is detrimental to a child growing up in a family. where there is no love at all but this woman was not the situation when both parents deeply love their children, both loved their children -. were so that his children, was maintainedresist.

That said, the divorce is devastating for children. Frankly, I had asked as a child, though I prefer to let my parents divorced, I would never fight again to see more, or I would have preferred if they stayed married, but aggressive, I would have picked the fight in a intact family every day of the week.

Well, to be honest, my parents were not fighting hand or be abusive physically and verbally. There was a lot of great timesso if you wanted to separate and, finally, disconnect all together, I know why not stay in good times as a springboard focus on aspects of the work. I know that parents do not live for their children, but I also believe that children prefer to tell their parents as parents happy in a loveless marriage is often not true -. at least from the perspective of the child, in fact, I believe that what the child really wants is for you to run, so you canall happy again - together as a family and is often more trouble if the divorce takes great financial strain for the family and there are drastic changes in lifestyle, which often makes the child feel guilty and caught in the middle. .

I know there are people who tell you that divorce was better for them and their families, but from personal experience, I'm not one of them. Now I have two step parents, both very nice people and I am noware small, younger sisters. Now I'm married to me and I realize exactly how difficult it is going, a wedding (actually, I almost divorced a few years ago), but forget the child in me still do not know how painful it was for to keep my parents, and every year at Christmas, when I celebrate with two families, it is only fair, you get sick. I know this is selfish of me, but it's really how I feel.

Your children do not want you to stay together for their own good, butWe want to find a way to a happy and united again: my mother's friends said the same thing: "You're not happy that your parents agree, and again, who does not have to struggle to hear more? "I think I was glad it was not the fight more, but what I really wanted him for his fight more because they had found a way to be happy again - together. I wanted to be happy for her - not separately.

Nobody is going toargue that there is a child growing up in a tense, unhappy at home well. But before you get a divorce, ask yourself if it is possible for your wedding (and not the state), so your child can grow into a happy home in change, which includes both parents. Sometimes this is not possible. I admit it. There are some issues that simply can not be saved, but I have seen many marriages turn apparently died, because both sides were engaged in such a way thathappen and finally found the right tools to succeed.

The separation of children from your marriage: This is a bit strange sound when I say it, but often with their parents while the children are the glue that holds, are often what most of the stress on the marriage of stay. with me while I explain. What I mean is that often children are two people who were deeply in love and turn the other concentrated in twoPeople who focus on their children once born. beginning are now less fans and more mom and dad.

I really think that "Falling Out of Love" or "do not love each other more," is to take the result or negligence, the time and focus to change, instead of changing emotions, or the fact that the chemistry is not gone. Often, the chemistry is still there - but you buried under a sea of obligations Often, when you press.everything else on the back burner for a while 'and only at the wedding and give your spouse the attention and appreciation of time that you did, you will notice that somewhere the two people who love each other there again.

And, frankly, is the best gift that you give the child of two parents who love each other, and their lot. But sometimes you have regular time away from children, give them this. It would be much better to have abit 'selfish than regular nights and have to grow into two separate houses.

Can Separation Save Marriage?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A trial separation may allow the spouse who wants the divorce to experience some of the feelings of being separated without making a final decision to divorce. The main advantage of a trial separation, of course, is that it's easily reversible. You can try it for a while, go through counseling, and then reconcile, or you can try separation for a while, decide you like it - and then proceed with divorce.

There are two ways you and your spouse can separate: either with an informal separation or by a formal legal separation.

An informal separation is basically whatever the two of you agree it to be. Typically, one of you stays in the home you had previously shared, and the other moves into some other quarters. At this stage you normally wouldn't make any formal property division, but you would agree, informally, on some kind of working arrangement about possession of things like cars, the bank accounts, the credit cards, and the stereo.

A formal legal separation is more permanent, more complicated, and more expensive. It's also much less common. It's nearly as expensive as a divorce - sometimes more so, because it's less common - so you may have to pay your lawyer to figure out how to do everything. And often people who get a formal legal separation wind up having to go through all the pain, time, and expense again later to get an actual divorce.

So why, I hear you ask, would anyone go through a formal legal separation? Maybe because some states require that a couple seeking a divorce have been separated for some period of time. Also, some couples need to remain legally married, perhaps so one can continue to be insured for medical or other purposes by the other's company. Formal legal separation makes this possible.

Occasionally, there is no question that the couple is moving toward divorce, but know it will take some time to work everything out. If their incomes are substantially different, it may be worth agreeing on a written separation agreement; that way the person paying any alimony can deduct it on his or her tax return. The paying spouse might be able to pay the receiving spouse more than enough to pay the tax on the alimony, and still come out ahead. Sometimes one of the spouses has a religious objection to divorce. A formal separation will allow the spouses to remain officially married even as they live separate lives.

Beyond that, there may not be much of a reason to go through the time, pain, and expense of a formal legal separation. Better perhaps to agree to reach a working arrangement for an informal separation. You can then follow it up directly with either reconciliation or divorce.

So, can separation save a marriage - that is the question. Some people strenuously resist separation, thus adding even more stress into an already tense marriage. Perhaps separation may be the best option for some marriages, despite the looming shadow of divorce, as living together is obviously is not working. However, can you make it work from a distance? A trial separation will go a long way in helping you decide the answer.

Why? Because couples who separate tend to find that without the constant daily conflict and bickering the lack of proximity to their spouse provides time to think, and solve problems. Marital problems are often hard to resolve as they often get stalled by egos, fear and stubbornness. Resolution can flourish as long as at least one partner is willing to keep trying; if the urge to always be right and not back down remains then it probably means that the separation will end in divorce.

It is therefore strongly recommended that you at least give trial separation a try. If only for the sake of trying to save your marriage.

Is it Right to Stay in a Marriage "For the Children's Sake"?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Sometimes, it is better to live your life alone rather than staying in a marriage that you are miserable in. Some spouses refuse to get a divorce just for "the children's sake", even if their marriage died long ago. But did you know that it is sometimes healthier and better for the kids if their parents get a divorce rather than see how miserable their parents are together?

When we hear of divorce, negative things come to mind - the end of a relationship, a broken family, misery, loss. But there are times when divorce becomes the better choice than staying together. Most spouses refuse to get a divorce because they think it's what's best for the kids. Children generally do better with a mother and a father to support them as they grow. However, it would be better for the kids to live in a happy environment with just a mother or a father than stay in a house seeing their parents argue everyday.

And if you do resort to pretending that everything is all right with your husband or your wife, consider how your children will react. They are not dummies nor are they emotionally callused. They will eventually find out that something's wrong. Truelove and affection can never be faked, especially in front of children. There will always be that uneasy silence or that hostile stare that they will notice now and then.

Remember, seeing you genuinely happy will make your kids happy as well. So if both of you think that divorce is the healthiest choice for your relationship, then it will also become the best choice you can make for your children's sake. All you need to do is to make them understand why both of you are separating. Be open and talk to them together as husband and wife. They will still need all the reassurance and support that you can give. Try to make the entire process as civilized and as peaceful as possible to reduce any emotional impact it may have on your children.

Should you Save your Marriage for the Sake of your Children?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Marriage isn't all about children and you shouldn't just consider your children when thinking about whether or not to try and save your marriage but it is interesting to note what impact a failed marriage can have on the life of a child.

It is a well known fact that children who have happily married parents enjoy a better style of life and are, on average, physically healthier than other children. In addition, failing to save your marriage could reduce the likelihood that your children will finalise their education, limit their achievements and double the chances of your children being unable to save their own marriage in the future.

Children from happily married backgrounds tend to enjoy far more of the more material aspects of life, with married men generally earning more than single men, and more often than not have a far better relationship with their fathers.

There are certain and obvious financial implications if you are unable to save your marriage with divorce significantly reducing the family income thus restricting your ability to provide for your family and pushing many women into the poverty zone.

Often the short term negative impact on your life when learning how to save your marriage is far more preferable (often in hindsight) than the stress of divorce with arguments over access, the strain on your finances and the continual battle of trying to run a household single handed. The transition from married to single (when you are unable to save your marriage) often destroys a significant part of your children's childhood, a period which we soon learn if very precious and should be valued.

Many partners suffer from depression on marriage break up and when this affects the parent who has custody of the children the impact can be devastating with the children feeling unwanted and unloved and failing to understand the reasoning behind why the marriage (their family life) could not be saved.

Marriage is important for the upbringing of your children. What happens in the early years often has a significant bearing on their teenage and adult years and generally has a significant bearing on how their life turns out. Obviously a less than harmonious marriage is not a good environment for a child but when giving consideration as to whether or not to try and save your marriage or head for the divorce courts it is worth considering the impact on the family as a whole.

I would never advocate that you save your marriage just because of the impact a broken home can have on a child but I do suggest that you should consider your next step very carefully and make totally sure that there is no way you can fix your marriage problems and be 100% sure that you are unable to save your marriage before destroying what could be, with a little help and guidance, a precious and enjoyable family life.

Should You Keep Tolerating a Bad Marriage for the Sake of the Family?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Although a lot of people and experts might disagree, it is not good to stay in an unstable relationship for the sake of children because a parent's unhappiness could have adverse effects on children's well being, much more than divorce could cause.

Hiding the Truth Will Not Help

Children love to see their parents happy as much as parents want their children to be. They might feel that they're solely responsible for their parent's happiness. No matter to what extent you might try to hide the issue from them, they would find it out one day or the other. The realisation that they have been the cause for your sacrifice could bring about more harm than just emotional turmoil to them. "We stayed for your well being" would be of no favour.

Experts who've dealt with plenty of mature children found the following to be true:

Children of divorced parents who found happiness in their life after their separation, either being single or by entering a new relationship, are said to have grown up happily. Such children seemed to have positive outlook towards life. The reason is simple. They had taken their parents as role model, who have great amount of affection for them and strength to make their own life blissful.

On the contrary, children of parents who stayed in an unhappy married life are the one's who seem to lack confidence in themselves. Such children grow up to be adults who have a negative notion about love. They either find complexity in expressing their emotions to their beloved or they consider themselves unworthy of love. This might be so because they have grown up watching people who failed in leading a content and joyous life.

Children Would Understand As They Grow Up:

It is almost impossible to find a grown up kid who would want his/her parents to stay in an unhealthy relationship for the excuse of giving him/her a glorious future. No child would like to see its parents staying in a passionless, despondent relationship. All that would result from this is a faked reality that no child would want to go through once they reach the level to analyse and understand such issues.

It is beyond the scope of understanding for children to treat their parents' divorce in a normal way but once the children enter adulthood and encounter problems regarding relationships, they would look at your problems under a new light. They would realise the amount of pain you experienced being in an unhappy relationship.

When a group of grown up children was asked on how many of them thought it would have been better if their parents had divorced, half of them responded that they preferred their parents were divorced. After separation of parents the emotional scar might take a long time to heal. But they would realise the truth once they begin to face the outer world.

As a parent, your duty is to decide on what is best for your children. Your child might disagree with your decision of separation but think about all those times when your child wanted to do something dangerous and you were firm in your decision to evade your child from doing it. This same attitude should be exhibited while deciding the future of your relationship. Your children might cry and be depressed for sometime but eventually as they grow up, they would start to look at you as people and not only as their parent. They would realise that you did not arrive upon the decision for your selfish motives alone.

It is important to assure them that your separation in no way would take away the love you and your spouse always had for your children. If this is done perfectly, your child would have no difficulty in coping with the new life.

You owe it to your kids to do the best to save your marriage. But if you arrive at a threshold point after which the relationship would not work, then you owe them a separated life from your spouse. They would surely look up to you with pride for what you did someday in the future.

My Husband Says He's Not in Love Anymore, But is Staying in the Marriage Only For Our Kids' Sake

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Over the weekend, I got an email from a woman who told me that she and her husband had recently had a fight and he blurted out that he didn't even love her anymore, but that he was staying married "for the sake of the kids."  She had no idea how to respond to this.  Of course, she was devastated.  But, she also wondered if she should stay in a "loveless marriage" or if it would be more detrimental to the kids to divorce than to remain in a household where one of the parents didn't love the other.

It was hard for her to separate her feelings about a divorce and her feelings about her husband.  Although she was annoyed with him, she did still love him and she wanted to make the marriage work.  If it were up to her, there would be no divorce. So, in the following article, I'll tell you what I told her about how to view this situation right now, but how to also turn it around in the future.

Divorce Vs Parents Who Don't Love Their Spouses From The Viewpoint Of Your Child(ren): First, I want to get how the kids fit into this out of the way.  Sure, it's detrimental for a child to grow up in a household where there is no love at all.  But, this woman's situation was not one where both parents did not deeply love their kids.  Both of them adored their children - so much so that it was their kids that were keeping them hanging in there.

With that said, divorce is devastating to children.  Honestly, if you had asked me as a kid if I would rather my parents get divorced so I would never have to see them fight again, or if I would rather they remained married, but combative, I would've chose the fighting in an intact family any day of the week.

Now, to be fair, my parents' fights weren't out of hand or physically and verbally abusive.  There were a lot of great times, so when they did separate and eventually split up all together, I used to dwell on why they couldn't focus on the good times as a stepping stone to working things out.  I realize that parents can not live for their children, but I also feel that saying kids would rather have happy parents than parents in a loveless marriage is often not true - at least from the viewpoint of the child.  In fact, what I believe that what the child really wants is for you to work it out so that you can all be happy again - together, as a family.  And, there is often a lot of resentment once the divorce puts a lot of financial strain on the family and there are drastic lifestyle changes which often makes the kid feel guilty and caught in the middle.

I realize that there are people who will tell you that the divorce was better for them and their families, but, from personal experience, I'm not one of them.  I now have two step parents who are both lovely people and I now have small, younger sisters.  I am now married myself and I realize exactly how hard it is to keep a marriage going (in fact, I almost divorced a few years ago), but the child in me still can not forget how painful it was for my parents to split up, and every Christmas, when I have to celebrate with two families, it just honestly feels wrong. I realize this is selfish of me, but it is truly how I feel.

Your Children Don't Want You To Stay Together For Their Sake, But They Want You To Find A Way To Become A Happy, United Family Again: My mother's friends used to say things like: "aren't you glad that your parents are happy again and that you don't have to hear the fighting any more?"   I suppose I was glad that there was no more fighting, but, what I really wanted was for there to be no more fighting because they had found a way to be happy again - together. I wanted for them to be happy together - not separately.

No one is going to argue that it's not good for a child to grow up in a tense, unhappy home.  But, before you divorce, ask yourself if it's possible to change your marriage (and not the status of it) so that your child can grow up in a happy home that includes both of their parents.  Sometimes, this isn't possible.  I concede that.  There are some marriages that just can't be saved, but I've seen countless seemingly dead marriages turn around because both parties were committed to making that happen and finally found the right tools to be successful.

Separating The Kids From Your Marriage:  This is going to sound a bit strange when I say it, but often, while the kids are the glue that holds the parents together, they're also often the thing that stresses the marriage the most.  Stay with me while I explain.  What I mean by that is that often children will turn two people who were deeply in love and focused on one another into two people who begin to focus more on their kids once they are born.  You are now less lovers and more mom and dad.

I honestly believe that "falling out of love" or "not loving each other anymore" is more the result or neglect, not taking the time, and shifting priorities, rather than changing feelings or the fact that the chemistry is no longer there.  Often, the chemistry is very much still there - but you've buried it under a sea of obligations.  Often, if you push everything else to the back burner for a while and focus only on the marriage and giving your spouse the time, attention and appreciation you did when you were dating, you'll find that the two people who fell in love are still in there somewhere.

And, quite honestly, the best gift that you can give your kids is two parents who love each other, and them, very much.  But sometimes, you have to spend regular time away from the kids to give them this. They would much rather you be a little selfish and have regular date nights than to grow up in two separate homes.

Why Women Gain Weight After Marriage?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The journey from a proud Miss Perfect 10 clad in her wedding dress to a careless Mrs. Fat Aunt is not really long. It takes only twelve months for the whole makeover. It is a proven fact that women gain weight after marriage, and the process is so fast that it becomes obvious to people around you. But trust me! you are not as bothered as you were before marriage. In fact you are really contented with the idea that you don't have to leave your bed early in the morning for an exercise or sacrifice your favourite dessert to cut down calorie intake. Although your size has increased from 10 to 14 then 18, after marriage you just want yourself let go. Nevertheless, you do not really like the idea that someone would call you Mrs. Fat Aunt, do you?

Common! Marriage does not mean that you do not have to look attractive anymore. In fact, to keep the electric attraction ongoing and keep your hubby glued to you, your looks matter a lot. Now, do I have to give reasons for the statement?

Miss Perfect 10 to Mrs. Fat Aunt

So let us find out the factors that change your waist line from 10 to 18 within 6 to 12 months from marriage.

o You think you have found a partner for life, no need to attract him anymore.

o You need to let your hubby know that you are a good cook.

o You cook for the family, giving preference to their choice.

o You eat as much as your partner, talking and munching!

o You eat the left-over, trying not to waste food.

o Your partner encourages you to eat more showing that your extra fat is not going to turn him off.

o You want to be loved unconditionally, not happy with the marriage, feeling disrespected, rejected and unloved.

o Pregnancy occurs

Think about it...

The secured feeling you get out of marriage is playing devil....the reason why you are putting on weight. As you do not have to attract a partner any longer, you stop taking care of yourself. When the marriage ends (God forbid!) and you are out of your dream castle, you see the mirror and scream, "Oh-my-God!! What I have done to myself!! Look at me...I don't know the woman in the mirror". So, you decide to shed your extra pounds, its time for another partner hunt! But why should your broken marriage be the only enthusiasm for being in shape? Be practical and don't spoil what can be your life long asset, your desire for a good figure will give you a good healthy life style as well.

Cook food to make your husband happy, that's really good! But you should not repeat richest meals and the creamiest desserts every day if you do not want to see your waist line increasing. And please let me tell you...you need to eat according to your body requirement. Not as much as your husband is eating, he has a bigger body than yours, so he needs more than you. You, as woman tend to please others and your motherly instinct resulting in putting the needs of others before your own. Do not do it. You can set an example for them, giving a good diet and healthy life style. They will understand and be supportive. Again, you do not like uneaten food left on plates because you were taught to finish your meals. So do not serve food when not needed or you know it can go waste.

The next reason for your increasing waistline may be your hubby is encouraging you to eat more, so that you do not look attractive any more and so he will compete less. Do not give into his insecurity, take him along with your weight loss program, and let him understand that you also want to see him in shape and in good health.

Another reason is unhappy married life, studies show that couples who are happy, stay in shape than those who are not. The reason behind this, you tend to put your concentration more on food and find solace in eating and cooking whatever you feel like, to suppress your depression and frustration. Hey, for heaven's sake, change the idea of eating more!! This will cause you more depression in the long term.

And finally when pregnancy is knocking the door, you overeat during pregnancy and become too inactive, believing that you need to eat a lot more than you actually do and also you slow down and relax more than should. And the sudden hankering for special foods during this time only multiples the problem. Once you deliver the child, you stay at home putting the needs of your child and family before your own. Keep a close look on your weight gain during this period of time. If you gain more fat, you can have complexities during your child birth. Do light exercises as recommended by the doctor and eat healthy but do not overeat.

Stay fit for a successful married life ahead...

Life changes after marriage, you are more loved, more cared and more secured than ever. The first 12 months are the formative months for your marriage. Do not let it go. Staying fit will give you confidence to lay the foundation of your marriage, and at the same time you will remain attractive to your husband. If you put on weight, you only store trouble for the future.
