The Chicago Bears 09' season is one filled with optimism. The Denver Broncos did the Bears a favor by creating trade talk with Jay Cutler, the Bears knew if they wanted to reach and win the Super Bowl they needed more then a game manager quarterback. The Bears had decades of mediocre quarterbacks from Kyle Orton, Rex Grossman, Chad Hutchinson, Craig Krenzel, Jonathan Quinn, Chris Chandler, Jim Miller, Cade McNown, Shane Mathews, Rick Mirer and Steve Stenstrom - that was just in the last decade. The last ten years the Indianapolis Colts have had one starting QB, Peyton Manning.
Now with their franchise QB (hopefully for Bears fans' sake) the Bears can score points on offense and compete in a division that is winnable for them. For the Bears to win the division they must play their best ever single week. The Minnesota Vikings have more talent and experience then the Bears with Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre. If the Bears expect to beat the Vikings or even Green Bay Packers they must beat the lesser quality opponents - Detroit Lions.
The Chicago Bears defense isn't what it was, they might not strike fear into the opponents hearts like they once did such as in 06'. The Bears defense still can create turnovers and cause disruption for opposing QB's - especially when the weather turns cold and windy in Soldier Filed.
Jay Cutler may be the missing piece the Bears need to finally raise the Super Bowl Trophy - first since 1986. Jay Cutler isn't a "one man band" other teammates must help Cutler so he isn't trying to do everything himself. This is a make or break year really to know if WR Devin Hester will be a great receiver (if not now then when) or just another wide receiver. Hester can break any game wide open and cause trouble for any defense.
